I Favor Traditional Marriage

Our state is poised to push through a Gay Marriage bill. We have already passed "Everything but marriage" but now the collective (or shall I say the legislative WE) want to finish the job.

I wrote my state Congressmen and Senator. I got the following reply from one of them:

I do not support discrimination of any kind; therefore it is easy for me to support legislation for same-sex couples. The rights granted by law to heterosexual couples should also be granted to same-sex couples.  The term “marriage” has been defined in different ways, but no matter what the definition, state and federal legislators need to ensure that equal civil rights are enjoyed by all citizens.

They are redefining the definition of something that existed before government so that they, err. I mean WE don't discriminate? And what gives them that right?

Marriage is not about whether a man can marry a tree, frog, a dog, or another man. It is not just about love. Marriage is about a commitment of two people to raise up their next generation. Yes there are couples that chose not to continue their family line and there are those that cannot carry on the family line. And there are those that chose to break that commitment. But that cannot be used to justify the biological dead-end of homosexual marriage.

God established marriage to pass on life. But man is setting himself up over God to abandon life.

So to avoid discrimination, how soon will a man be allowed to marry a tree, a frog, a dog?

I am NOT the 99% or the 1%

Have you seen those bumper sticker? "You are the 99%" I didn't make the connection with the Occupy crowd at first (my bad). But the more I see and hear from the OWS'ers and their call to raise taxes on the 1%, the less I like about them and their call you solidarity against the 1%.

They seek unity/cover among many so they can claim to be the majority. But I still think they are bullies and cowards. Instead of trying to Reason with others, they want to intimidate all by their supposed numbers. So they claim to speak for and have the allegiance of 99% of the population. And they declare this on signs and homemade bumper stickers.

They want to hold some businessman accountable. I can agree with that. But what about the enabling politicians? Instead, they want to castigate any body who is rich on the philosophy that they made their money on the backs of the not so rich. Their first false assumption is that the all wealth is one big pie and nobody should be allowed too big a piece because it then denies others their "fair share."

Some of the one per-centers may have stolen their wealth but many of them earn it by providing a service or product that others are willing pay for. Obviously, they cannot do all of the work by themselves so they create jobs for people that can help them serve their customers. Many of them take a risk to do this. Some fail and some succeed. They take the risk because if they succeed, they can expect large rewards. But if the OWS crowd has their way, why would anybody want to take a risk and creating a product or service let alone any jobs.

I for one am grateful to the 1%'s who have taken the risk so that I can have a job so I can pay for my daily needs and desires while I dream about making it to the ranks of the 1%.

God made several choices for you to make you uniquely you. God chose your place in Time; your time of birth. You had no choice in this matter.

God chose your place of birth; in or out of a hospital; in a city, or town; in a rich or a poor county. In most cases, your birth place establishes your national heritage. You had no choice in this matter.

Your Mother & Father
God chose your parents. You may have great parents or they may have been lousy. Some people may not even know who their parents were. But their union provided your birth order, your gender, your physical features including eye, hair, and skin color, and your mental capabilities. You had no choice in the matter

Then there is you. You did not choose "You" to be you but you are you. You had no choice in this matter.

In summary, you received at birth
1.    Birth date
2.    Birth place
3.    Birth parents
4.    Birth Order (whether you have siblings or not)
5.    Gender
6.    Physical Features including eye, hair, and skin color
7.    Mental capabilities

All of these are combined to make you uniquely you. None of these make any of us superior or inferior to anybody else. We are all equal but unique in God's eyes.
But there is one thing you received at birth that is not unique to just you and God did not choose it for you: SIN! Adam and Eve disobeyed God and become sinners. We have inherited this nature of sin from our parents all the way back to Adam and Eve.

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned--

How do we know that we have sin? Have you broken any of God's commandments? What are His Commandments?

But we also know that we are sinners because God's Bible tells us.

God condemns sin, a penalty must be paid.

However, this did happen during the General's watch. He did the honorable thing. And the president accepted. That was the bigger mistake.

If President Obama wanted to show any true concern for our military and the objective in Afghanistan, he would have set aside his personal hurt, rejected the General's resignation, and sent him back to the field with what he needed to do the job. I guess that would have required some humility. Instead, the president had to show us how tough he is. At least he didn't have to fire him.

A Proverb on Oil

My pastor has been doing a series on Proverbs. We are currently in chapter 14 and we came across this:

Where no oxen are, the trough is clean; But much increase comes by the strength of an ox. (Proverbs 14:4 NKJV)

It suddenly hit me that we could substitute oil for ox and it might make more sense to the modern American.

Where no oil is drilled, the land is clean; But much increase comes by the strength of oil.

City dwellers are so isolated from farm animals. I remember hearing about the high school girl that was surprised that somebody had to kill a steer to make hamburger. She always thought that it just came from the grocery store. So what "increase" does an Ox's strength produce? Food of course.

Yes! We have to be good stewards and clean up after ourselves but no oil equals no production. Or shall I say limited and expensive production. While solar, wind, and wave energy may be cheaper, harvesting energy from them is not. We use energy to produce the things we need to take care of our families and maybe our friends. If we cannot use our own oxen (i.e. oil, gas, nuclear, etc...) for energy, we will have to buy it from others at a greater cost. Instead of paying Americans for our energy, we can buy it from dictators or dictator wannabe's. And while our trough or land may be clean and empty, so will be our factories, bank accounts, and maybe even our refrigerator's.

Drill here, drill now.

How can a Christian vote for a Republican?

It ain't easy let me tell ya. But, it would be harder to vote for a Democrat.

A Progressive recently challenged me stating the Jesus was all about compassion and the poor. In fact the New Testament has lots of verses about feeding and caring for the poor and only a few gay bashing verses. So we should vote for the poor before we vote against the gays. Huh?

How does voting for bigger government help the poor? And what do gays have to do with that? Then it hit me; these guys can't see the difference between Charity and Government. So I made the following chart to see if that would help.

My Progressive friend has not yet responded.
The scriptures, Old and New, tell us repeatedly to care for the poor. But no where does it tell us to turn this responsibility over to the government. We are still responsible. Have we not seen this philosophy in the giving patterns of the politicians? It's usually the conservative that gives more. The liberals must think they give enough through their taxes. President Obama was an anomaly in that he did give a respectable percentage of his income to charity. Good for him. But, I still wonder about his charities.

The United Way campaign is underway across the country. I prefer to give directly to the organizations that are doing the work like the Gospel Mission groups, Pregnancy Resource Centers, and others. A lot more poor people would be helped if more money went to the United Way instead of the United States Treasury. Our government's job is to protect the poor (and the rich and all of those in between) from aggressors, not feed them.

President Obama's Predator Drone Joke

I had heard that our President had made a joke about the Jonas Brothers. But I didn't know it was about using Predator Drones on them (see obama predator drone joke).

I am disgusted.

For our Commander and Chief to joke about using the U.S. military against U.S. citizens shows that while he may understand the power he has authority over, he has no clue of his responsibility for that power.

I do not hate him. And I have heard nothing at any Tea Party or on Talk Radio that could make me hate him. But he scares me. He's going to get somebody killed.

Why the Libs Hate the Ten Commandments

There are several left leaning groups that are working diligently to remove the Biblical Ten Commandments from the public's view. My side typically argues that the Ten Commandments are the basis for natural law (don't steal or murder come to mind). But the left has a problem with this? While it may be clear why they would object to the first four, I believe I can list their reasons for all ten.

One and only one God – Exodus 20:3 and Deuteronomy 5:7
Some libs think that there is either no God, or many different gods; but heaven forbid that there be just one Supreme God. To them, only the State is supreme. All hail to the state.
No other God's – Exodus 20:4, 5 and Deuteronomy 5:8,9, 10
The State is supreme. There are groups of atheists today that believe children need to be inoculated against the virus of religion, especially Christianity. Some believe that the first amendment to the Constitution of the United States should protect us from all public expression of religion. That State is a jealous god, not wanting to share authority with any.
Respect God's name – Exodus 20:7 and Deuteronomy 5:11
In this day and age? Why should the libs do that?
Honor the Sabbath – Exodus 20:8-11 and Deuteronomy 5:12-15
The libs want Christians to relegate this to their closets. It's ok to worship but just don't bring it into the workplace or school or any other public place. They cry, "Separation of Church and State." They want the state to protect them from the church and keep it away from them.
Honor authority (Parents first) – Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:16
Their philosophy here is to question authority. The kids can learn everything they need to know in the public schools and the media. They don't want any of that parental propaganda; especially from parents that cling to their guns and Bibles.
No Murder – Exodus 20:13 and Deuteronomy 5:17
The Bible is clear that society can kill under two conditions; capital punishment or war. Some of the libs believe neither of these are reasons to kill. However, they have no problem with terminating the old that have exceeded their productive life and the young or handicapped that are unwanted or incapable of being productive. It's for the greater good you see.
No Adultery – Exodus 20:14 and Deuteronomy 5:18
God's word blesses sex between a male husband and his female wife. All other sexual unions are forbidden. There are many people today, not just libs that believe this view is too narrow. They would prefer the instructions on a package of condoms to the instructions in God's Word. No other guidelines are wanted. Look at the entertainment media with its gratuitous sex. And rarely is it between husband and wife; all of the fun of sex but never the responsibility.
No Stealing – Exodus 20:15 and Deuteronomy 5:19
They agree that individuals should not take other peoples stuff. But the libs believe that the government can and should redistribute wealth. Remember the Marxist mantra, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need". Let us tax the rich to pay for what WE decide is good for everybody.
No False Witness – Exodus 20:16 and Deuteronomy 5:20
We don't even need to go to the government to see this. The media is so ready to fabricate stories against people that they do not like. One very blatant example is Dan Rather (who would rather be correct then right any day) with his, "The evidence is fake but we know the story is true."
No Coveting – Exodus 20:17 and Deuteronomy 5:21
This is the basis of the class warfare mentality. Witness the hue and cry when the public hears about the sizes of some of the executive bonuses given in the corporate world. It should not be anybodies business, least of all the governments, what a company decides to pay its employees. Are there crooks in the business world? Yes! But do not tell me that the government has fewer crooks. I won't believe you.

It is clear that they do not want the Ten Commandments; NOT just because they are biblical, but it would cramp their lifestyle.

Depressing but there is good news. Jesus summarized the commandments into two, "Love the Lord your God with all of your soul, heart, mind, and strength, and your neighbor as yourself". This is the standard that God measures us by. How are we doing? How are you doing? While we may strive to meet the standard, we have to be honest and admit that we have failed. God knew we would and that is why He sent Jesus to die on the cross. He did that for us. Jesus is the answer for the standard that we cannot keep.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,

Time to Privatize the US Postal System

I don't know who first made the analogy but it goes something like this:

The federal government would run a health care system with the efficiency of the post office and the compassion of the IRS.

Even President Obama made a joke about the efficiency of our postal system.

I laugh because just before I read the CBS article, I saw this:

How About Some German Efficiency for Canada Post?

It appears that the Socialistic Germans have improved their postal service by privatizing it. Maybe that's what we should do with our Postal System AND our health care.

Major Hasan Violated his Oath to Serve

I just read two good articles relevant to the Jihadist attack at Fort Hood; The first by Chuck Norris and the second by Ann Coulter. Both point out that the Jihadist ideology is dangerous and our PC attitude readily enables the adherents. It is even worse when we allow this in our military.

It is clear that Major Hasan violated his oath to defend the Constitution long before he murdered 13 people. Perhaps that should be an annual test for all armed forces personnel; "Do you still stand by your oath?" If not, they should be discharged. But what if they benefited from a paid education? Perhaps they should pay it back. If it is clear they lied in the first place, there should be a punishment of some kind. However, we do not want them around our troops.

If the 3500+ Muslims in our military can adhere to their religion, support their oath, and comply with the UCMJ, then I thank them for their service. If they cannot, we should heed Major Hasan's warning and get them out. We cannot continue to hide from this destructive ideology. This Major was blatant, he didn't try to hide anything. I guess you don't have to hide anything if the Brass are not watching anyway.

Major Hasan should get the death penalty. How about death by injection of pigs blood?

At it Again Al Gore

Costco is helping Ex-Vice President Al Gore push his new book. I am disappointed in them but that is their prerogative. In the November 2009 issue of The Costco Connection, on page 24, Al starts with:

As a nation, we face three interrelated crises that collectively threaten to destabilize our way of life: the climate crises, the continuing economic crisis and the security crisis, all stemming from our absurd overdependence on foreign oil, the largest reserves of which are controlled by sovereign states in the Persian Gulf.

He then goes on in the article to advocate "green" energy as the solution to all of these problems. I would support the development of green energy as long as they were market driven. However, the advocated government "solutions" removes logic and replaces it with politics. I also challenge his initial premise that oil is the cause of these problems.

The Climate Crisis: What crisis? A lot of fabricated hype from the same people who are making money off of the panic they have caused. Al Gore says "the Debate is settled" but it is only settled because he refuses to debate anybody. There are many scientists that have challenged his theories but he and the media have chosen to ignore them. Oil has been labeled as the boogie man but I think the alarmists are the greater problem.
The Economic Crisis: Congress still refuses to acknowledge their culpability in the economic crash we have had. And their solutions have done nothing but exasperate the problem. To force banks to make risky loans and not expect any consequences is pretty short sighted. But that's politics I guess. Did corrupt business people take advantage of this? Yes! But were they not enabled by corrupt or suspect politicians? Cheaper energy would help the situation and the best way to do that is to drill here in the USA and drill now. More oil here means cheaper energy worldwide and that would help everybody.
The Security Crises: The Jihadists declared war on us because of our dependency on oil? I don't think so. The hate us because we represent and advocate freedom, not because we have paid them market rates for their oil. He can stick his green fingers in his ears and ignore the Islamic threat if he wants to but that is not going to make us any safer. I do believe that the majority of the Muslims are peaceful. But the Jihadists have declared war on us and going green is not going to stop them from trying to kill us.

Vice President Gore thinks we can get rid of our problems by getting rid of our absurd overdependence on foreign oil. I think what's absurd is our overdependence on government to solve our problems.

I'm a Racist?

Several "Experts" in the media seem to think that if I oppose President Obama, then I am a racist. Shoot! Truth be told, I kinda like his skin color; It's the rest of him that I am having difficulty accepting.

Since I started voting, there have been three presidents that I have felt have caused more harm then good to this country:

President Carter the Inept
President Clinton the Immoral
and now, President Obama the Arrogant

But I don't hate any of them. Their "Progressive" ideology on the other hand...

But back to the race issue; I believe there is only One Race. This race is not white, or black, or red, or yellow, or even green. It's the Human Race. We have morphological differences inherited from our ancestors all the way back to Ham, Shem, and Japheth, and ultimately to Noah. We are all related. We are just different (Thank you God). Viva La Difference!

Skin color may be the easiest way to classify people. But skin color doesn't kill people; Ideology does.

Health Care Townhall

I went to Representative Rick Larsen's Town Hall meeting on Wednesday night in Everett. It had been originally scheduled to be in a room suitable for 300. It had to be moved to the Everett Memorial Stadium where the Everett Herald says there was 2,400.

Before Representative Larsen started, I overheard a lady say, "We wouldn't have to do this if we could trust business." So you want to trust government instead? I don't understand the liberal mindset; how does turning a private business into a public one make it more moral? What is the mechanism that accomplishes this?

A couple of "Progressives" I know say that if I don't like what a politician does, I can vote him out of office. But if I don't like what Target does to me today, I can go to WalMart tomorrow. If I don't like what my Congressman does, I have to wait 2 years to get rid of him (unless Acorn has other ideas). But even if I manage to Cap his term and Trade him/her for a new one the next election cycle, I am still stuck with paying/suffering whatever legislation was passed during their term. And, of course, the terms for the President and Senators is longer so we have to wait even longer to get rid of them.

It was clear to me that Representative Larsen favors the diabolical HR3200 which sets the trap for Socialized medicine. There is no place on earth where Socialized Medicine has outperformed the system we currently have. Our system does need work but I would prefer to see the Patient Choice Act (S 1099 or HR 2520) over any Nationalized system ever. I did a search on the United States Constitution looking for the term "Rights of the People" and found the following in the Bill of Rights:

Article 1: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

Article 2: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Too Big To Read? Then Don't Vote for it.

Is this a new trend? Or something that has being going on all along?

Congressman John Conyers (D-Mich.) admitted this weekend that he has not read the thousand page Healthcrap bill because it would take two lawyers to interpret it.

Congressman Henry A. Waxman (D - CA) admitted that he did not read the Crap and Tax bill that he sponsored. He may trust the scientists that wrote it but why should I?

WHAT? Isn't that like signing a blank check? What are they doing in Congress anyway. How do the "Represent" us when they vote for a bill to become law and make us accountable for it when they do not even know what is in it?

I think I will ask my Congressman and/or Senator at the next Townhall meeting if they have read any of bills that they have enslaved us to. Then maybe I can ask them to sign over a blank check to me.

Maybe it's time to CAP their terms and Trade them for some fresh representatives.

Crap and Tax?

Thank you U.S. House of Representatives. You crap this bill out, it stinks to high heaven, and now you want the tax payers to pay for it?

Oh wait… You say its CAP and TRADE? Not Crap & Tax?

So let me get this straight. The government is going to put an arbitrary CAP on the Green-House-Gases that a company can produce. The companies can then TRADE these limits with other businesses depending upon who needs what? Hence, CAP & TRADE. Rigghhhtttt!

So are the limits based how much they donate to the party? Or is it out right bribery and it goes to the highest bidder?

That's a load of crap and why do I keep hearing this sucking sound from my wallet.

President Obama has said this should cost no more per family then the cost of a postage stamp per week. Does that mean that postage stamps are going up to $25.00? Oops! I'm sorry. Did I let the cat out of the bag?

I'd like to put a CAP on your terms and TRADE you for a fresh Representative in order to limit the amount of gas you release in Congress.

Reparations? Sure, Why Not?

I think every slave liberated in 1865 still living should be paid something by any living slave holder today. Why involve today's taxpayers?

Why indeed but is that not what is being asked for now? It's not, "Who did this to (the) U.S.?" but "You owe me now!" The United States of America did not start slavery, we inherited it. Some of our founders wanted to abolish it when we became a country. But that was not politically correct for that time. It took some Christians in Britain to get the ball rolling to end legal slavery. The USA finally followed through. Some say that Christians kept slavery going here. But I say, "Just because a fan wears the jersey, doesn't mean he is on the team." There are a lot of people who claim to speak for Christ who do not know The Christ.

Back to Slavery, Reparations, and Taxes: What is slavery? Is it not enforced servitude where you work for somebody else's gain? I don't mean to minimize the dehumanizing history of slavery but what have we done to our children? Is not the debt we have saddled them with a type of slavery? How long will they have to work, not for their own benefit, but to pay off the largess of the Progressive Politicians? Perhaps we should hold these politicians accountable and make them pay reparations to our children for what they have done to our them.

lIes	To deceive. A falsehood. This must be plural but part of the word is "deceptively" hidden within the larger word and only the "I" is exposed. Interesting. With politicians, it's all about them so why not expose only the "I" of self.
TIck	A blood sucking bug with a small head.
CIAN	From Mortician, meaning to bury

Therefore, a Pol-i-ti-cian is a blood sucking pest that speaks many lies in order to bury the truth and hide any bodies. I may still be missing something because it doesn't say anything about taxes. Oh wait, they don't call them taxes do they? They call it "Investing."

Pro-Life and Abortion Common Ground

President Obama wants the Pro-Life and the Pro-Abortion People to find common ground. Where is there common ground between life and death?

However, as a Pro-Lifer, I do have a suggestion. We concede that they can use the term "Pro-Choice" if they allow that the fetus get's to make the choice. They have chosen the term "Choice" but it does not fit them now.

Now the fetus, obviously, cannot make a wise, informed decision until it has the information and can understand it. Furthermore, it cannot make any legally binding decisions until it is 18. I propose that we let the child grow to the age of eighteen, and then ask them, "Should you have been aborted?" If they say yes, they will need to sign an affidavit stating this. Their statement should include a message to their parents as to why they think they should have been aborted. This will NOT allow them to commit suicide. Pro-Lifers can provide counselors to help this troubled teen. It will be up to the Pro-Choicer's to figure out how to get the signed affidavit sent back in time before birth for this child authorizing them to abort them. The mother will be required to read this future statement from her child before she includes her "choice" for the abortion. After all, both parties involved must make the "choice" for the abortion.

Tiller the Killer is dead but…

I have heard the Liberals lump the Pro-Lifers in with the Killer that killed Tiller. The pro-life position does not, cannot justify murder for any reason. But I have also seen some on the blogs from the supposed pro-life side rejoicing in the death of Dr. Tiller. They say, "We would never advocate killing, but now that he's dead…" This is so wrong. There is no defense for what Dr. Tiller did, he was a killer. But if God does not rejoice in the death of wicked, how can we?

Say to them: 'As I live,' says the Lord GOD, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?' (Ezekiel 33:11 NKJV)

Abortion did not start with Dr. Tiller, nor does it end with his death. For every one of the 60,000 children that this "Doctor" killed, there was a parent that paid him to do it. Granted, some of the mothers may not have wanted it that way. The child's father or one of the parent's own parents may have pressured her into it. But it was ultimately, a family member that ordered and paid for the execution of a helpless child. So that makes at least 60,001 killers. Who is the guiltiest? Does it matter? The children are dead. Dr. Tiller was only one of the many people that enable this industry of death to exist.

Therefore, I argue that we do have a problem but Dr. Tiller is not the cause of it. Our nation has a spiritual problem; we have forgotten our roots. We have kicked God out of the schools and have turned them over to the unions and the government (a sure combination for success) for the teaching of our children. This teaching says that we happened by chance, not design; that we come from Amoebas and Monkeys and that we are not any better than Amoebas and Monkeys. Some even teach that we are worse than Amoebas and Monkeys because we have caused all of the world's problems and the world would be better without us.

But God is amazing and provides a different reason, with a better conclusion, and a loving solution:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 NKJV)

The Messiah, the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, paid the deserved penalty for these parents, for Dr. Tiller, and for Dr. Tiller's killer. He also paid the penalty for us.

What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. As it is written: "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO, NOT ONE; (Romans 3:9-10 NKJV)

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23 NKJV)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

D.O.M.A. Defense: It’s for the Children

The polls seem to indicate that those defending traditional marriage are losing ground. Miss California attempted an admiral defense when challenged by an activist judge with the homosexual marriage question. She has been vilified by some on the left. However, her response, "I was raised that way" may not be enough to win this debate. Many have used the phrase, "You cannot legislate morality" to justify promiscuity, homosexuality, or abortion. Yet, many of these same people want to now legislate our moral position on marriage. Granted, we will never convince the advocates for gay marriage but we need to have something more substantial for those that have not yet made up their minds.

I think we have at least three good arguments on our side:

It's for the children: The Faith and Freedom Network had a couple of good articles recently on why we should NOT legalize same sex marriage; One from Senator Dan Swecker and other by Gary Randall. Basically, "it's for the children". Where have we heard that term before? Bottom line, why is there marriage in the first place? It is not a license for sex. It is society's official recognition of an established family unit. A couple has committed themselves to each other AND any children they may have. Children thrive best under the nurturing care of their natural parents. That isn't always possible. Some single or substitute parents have done some admirable work in raising kids but it is not optimal. Raising kids is tough. Having two mommies or two daddies is not going to make it any easier either.
It's for the church: The Church is described as the bride of Christ. It reflects a loving relationship between a man and a woman. A homosexual marriage would distort that image. After all, it did start with Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
Homosexuality is just wrong. It's not just what Paul wrote in Romans as some have claimed. Moses also wrote it by direction from God in Leviticus 18. Homosexuality is listed with all manner of sexual sins. He puts it right between sacrificing children to idols and having sex with animals and calls it an abomination. It's clear that the only approved sex is between a male husband and a female wife. Their argument is not with Paul or even Moses. It is with God.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV)

It should have a picture of the Goose that laid the Golden Egg with a large, rotund, pig sitting on its back. The name of the goose is "Free Market." We'll call the pig B. G. (for Big Government). With one hand (labeled "Regulations") as he sits astride his feathered steed, he is choking the daylights out of Free Market. His other hand (labeled I.R.S.) is taking grain out of Free Market's feed trough. The caption can read, "If you don't give me another golden egg, we will have to Nationalize you." The Bib can then be labeled across the top, "Don't waste a good crisis." Across the bottom it can read, "This crises is a waste of change."

500,000,000 Americans to lose jobs

That's right! Nancy Pelosi says that every month we don't pass the Gi-huge-ic – Porkulus – Spend-a-holic bill, five hundred million Americans will lose their job.

Only one problem – There is only about 360 million Americans living today. I guess we better get busy and start having some more kids. Oh wait; Nancy wants us to cut back on them too. Not only does she want us to cut down, she advocates cutting some out while there are still in the womb (It's not murder if they are still inside the mommy – doesn't make sense to me either but government must know best).

So if kids are not the answer, where are the other 140 million workers going to come from? Some possibilities:

Maybe she is counting on an increase in illegal aliens when Mexico collapses. No, that cannot be – they are not Americans.
Maybe she is counting on every American (part of our sacrifice) to get two jobs to help pay for the Spend-a-LOT bill. It's not only good bye Free Market, it's good bye Free Time. But how many of the total population are of a working age? Does that mean all retired people will have to get a job or two? Will the child labor laws be revoked to cover the largess of Congress?
Perhaps, big numbers confuse her and she thought 500,000,000 sounded better then saying "a-lot."
Personally, I think her inflated figure comes from the number of dead people that Acorn registered to vote for Obama.

Either way, this Stifle-us bill will truly stifle U.S. Most of the "created" jobs seem to be government jobs and no government job has ever contributed one dime to the G.D.P. If we were to spend ten million dollars a day since July 4, 1776, it would not equal the amount proposed to "spend" us out of this problem today, tomorrow, or ever. We need to save for the future, not spend for it.

But there is one other issue that I don't see anybody saying anything about; If President Obama can't charm the conservatives, what the heck is he going to do when he goes to speak with President Ah-Mini-Jihad of Iran?

Do I want to see President Obama Succeed?

Well! Let me see.

Now that he is the President, hoping that President Obama fails is like hoping that the United States of America fails. However, if he enacts what he promised (and what the Progressives are drooling over) we will fail.

I would much rather see President Obama wake up to truth and change his policies. I want to see him:

Veto the Freedom of "CHOICE" (read death) act - because it is so wrong.
Honor and support our troops - because we need them.
Drill here, drill now - because we need it.
Cut taxes - because they don't need it.
Cut spending - because they can't handle it.
Seal the borders - because we only want Legal Immigrants.
Send the Gitmo detainees to a smaller island farther away (perhaps off of the coast of Antarctica) along with their lawyers - because we don't need or want them.

But then, President Obama is not the real problem; He is just a symptom. The real problem is the 52% of the voters that voted for him. And why did they do that?

He's going to bring "change."
He's soooo smart.
He's black.
He's not Bush.
He's going to stop Global warm, er... Climate change or whatever.
He will save our jobs.
He will pay our mortgages.
He'll tax the rich but not me.
He will do whatever we ask him and his big government to do for our 57 (or was that 58) states.
And they believe whatever the Main Stream Media tells them.

Instead, I will pray that these great United States of America succeed. I think we have a chance.

Is it just me? Has anyone else observed this? I think there are more Obama Bumper Stickers now that the elections are over. And they look new, or at least not weather worn. I suppose the owners of these vehicles with the new Obama stickers could have been campaign workers getting out the vote (you know - registering dead people and all that) and were too busy to be driving around. I think it's just the latest fad, "Look at me - I voted for him."

On the other hand, could it be that these people know something we don't yet? Are we going to need to show a certain level of "support" to be able to function in the changed society? What if we don't? This is starting to creep me out.

Nah! Couldn't be. I think I'll stick with my fad theory.

Death for One, Death for All

Washington State has on it's ballot this year Initiative 1000, the "Death with Dignity" proposal. The commercials state that those who oppose this initiative are Pastors from out of state and they not only want to deny our rights to choose how we die but they also want to stop our "reproductive rights." Well, I'm no pastor and while I was not born in Washington, I have lived here more than half of my life. Does that count? Because I have a few things to say about the subject:

Reproductive Rights: I don't think any of us want to deny them the "choice" to reproduce. It's their desire to kill the child of the act of reproduction that is so wrong. They don't want to live with the consequences of their actions and think that this will absolve them of the responsibility. The innocent child does not get to choose.
Death with Dignity: The victim here does make the "choice" but why? For the convenience of others? So as not to be a further burden on family members, friends, insurance companies, or the government? They make the choice once a doctor has told them they have only so many days to live. Their pain can be mitigated but that deadline scares them into taking things into their own hands. But how accurate is it? Doctors try to predict when we will be born but they are rarely accurate. What is their accuracy rate for our death date? A determined person will commit suicide but this law will absolve those responsible of any guilt, supposedly.

In both cases, the individual is setting themselves up to be like God. It is Him that they want to deny.

For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

Why is it that the left is so ready to keep us from killing the enemy of Liberty in war or the perpetrator of a violent crime with capital punishment but want the right to kill the weak and innocent child and the weak and sickly individual?

That candidate replied that he did not want to punish any success he might have, BUT he felt it was good to "Spread the Wealth" around.

Take heed all potential entrepreneurs, you will be punished. You can take solace in the fact that a President Obama would not want to punish you but that it is important to spread the wealth around. So why bother entrepeneur-ing? Let Joe do it. We are all going to get a piece of his action anyway.

Hyperbole I'm sure but to think that bringing in Constitutional judges would "set us back" is telling. The left seems to have such a problem with history and the constitution. The Christian right I am familiar with does not want to bring slavery back, especially a "Race Based" slavery.

Two Points here:

Race is not a biblically supported idea. It is better supported by Darwinisim (see Answers in Genesis).
Slavery has not been limited in history to just one skin color. It's a sad note in our history that it existed at all and that skin color played a part in it.

Slavery did not start with the founding of our country. It is sad that it took us so long to get rid of it. May we help abolish it around the world now.

It's a sad tale of tax dollars supporting programs to coerce people (especially poor people in poor countries) into getting sterilized. They don't want to care for their brother, just get rid of him.

Why is it that the "Pro-Choice" position seems to favor the rather permanent "choice" of death for somebody else? It's never a "choice" for schooling or healthcare. Debate isn't even allowed with some topics so we can make a choice. The choice has been made for us on Anthropogenic Climate Change and Evolution. The "Choice" always centers around fixing the unwanted consequences of a licentious lifestyle.

While reading the article, I was reminded of the bumper sticker slogan, "Keep your Morals off of My Body." How come that doesn't apply here?

Tough Choice: A Community Organizer or a Mayor

I think most voting Americans know what a mayor does. We get to choose our mayors. They have to campaign and convince us why we should choose them. Then, once elected, they are to be accountable to us, the people. They are to serve us.

What is a Community Organizer? What do they do? Well, obviously, they organize communities you nit wit (They say that like I'm supposed to know). But what does it mean to "organize a community?" How does one get such a position? Who are they accountable to? And, what are they supposed to accomplish? How do they serve the people? Or, Do they even serve the people?

Wait a minute! Why are we comparing the credentials of a presidential candidates with a vice presidential candidate? I suppose we need to know what they have done to see if they will do what they say they will do. But, shouldn't it be P to P and VP to VP? To be honest, I'm really less concerned about what they have done as compared to what they promise to do to me, err..., I mean for me in the future.

I think I will take the old guy who has taken some risks and made some mistakes over Mr. "Present" any day. And while an organized community sounds nice, I'd prefer the safer one with less taxes and more energy any day.

President Bush trusts us, the American People. He thinks of us as equals. He may have the highest rank in the country but he's not looking down from a pedestal.

On the other hand, what does the Senator from the land of Ill-Noise (pun intended) think of us? First off, he establishes that we the people caused this problem by driving around with under inflated tires. Second, we just need to follow his instructions to resolve this issue. That's why we need him as our president and why his Mrs. can finally be proud of this country.

Libs seem to have captured the bumper sticker phrase market. In trying to understand liberals, I thought I'd try to think like one and create some bumper stickers of my own. I didn't do too well thinking like a lib (still feels kinda creepy) but I did come up with some bumper sticker ideas I liked.

A friend coined the phrase "Al-Gore-ithim" while we were discussing an Australian kid website where you can figure out how big your "Carbon Footprint" is. Turns out that if you don't eat meat, have kids, or do anything, you should be able to live forever. However, if you live a normal life, they want you dead by age 4. The earth would be a better place then. He figured that the program must be using a left leaning Al-Gore-ithim.

In Defense of Defense

A Senator was recently castigated for embellishing his military service record, claiming that he had been in a certain conflict when he had not. It turns out that he served during that time frame but in a different area and he never saw any action. Is he any less significant in that he did not see any action? Untested, maybe. But no less significant. He served and I respect that. He lied and I cannot respect that.

I recently toured one of the three Army forts that had been established in 1900 to defend the Northwest's Puget Sound: Fort Casey, Fort Warden, and Fort Flagler. These three forts created a "Triangle of Fire" for any enemy ships that might try to attack the Sound. The forts were not cheap to build or maintain. Hundreds of soldiers were stationed there during the first half of the 20th century. The enemy never came and the forts never saw any action. Was this a waste of resources?

Just think of the money and manpower we could save if we could only deployed troops where they would be needed? No "useless" forts or ships. No military personnel that have never seen combat. Target the enemy where they are and let everybody else go about their business. But, that is not the nature of war. Is it?

If any enemy realizes that all of our troops are committed to a specific area, instead of sending reinforcements there, they could just send a much smaller force to attack where we have no troops, causing greater damage and more casualties. With no reserves, our flanks are exposed.

Our defensive shield consists of more than just our troops committed to any immediate action:

Ready airmen, marines, sailors, and soldiers are deployed around the world providing a first line response to any possible aggression. In the absence of aggression, they provide a fine deterrence.
The National Guard and the Reserves provide a ready and able pool of Americans willing to step in and fill any gaps on short notice.
If the gap widened, most of the veterans I know would gladly stand shoulder to shoulder again. Branch rivalry aside, all Civil Servants, Grunts, Puddle Pirates, Jarheads, and Squids* would gladly serve with each other.
Last but not least, is our Second Amendment. A recent news report I heard said we have more guns per capita than any country in the world (They said this like it was a bad thing). Our armed citizenry is the ultimate poison pill for any future Napoleon or Hitler that is somehow able to breach the first three lines of our defenses.

No! Freedom isn't free. Nor does it come cheaply. It requires constant vigilance and an able defense. Some will pay the ultimate sacrifice. Hopefully and prayerfully, most will not. But it also requires that we have troops, forts, equipment, and weapons that may never see any action. It requires that we have men and women ready to serve wherever they are needed. It behooves those of us who have served to support those now serving and share with them why they are needed. It's a team effort, true patriotism.

I heartily thank all of those that have served, are serving, and will serve. For those of you who would rather see us become more like Europe: ready to appease the enemy, avoiding any aggression, and obliterating our Second Amendment right; I would like to wish a pox upon you. But that would not be right. You have the freedom granted in our First Amendment to say what you believe. I just don't like you because your are going to get us killed.

* For the uninitiated: Civil Servants = Air Force; Grunts = Army: Puddle Pirates = Coast Guard; Jarheads = Marines: and Squids = Navy.

Congress should pay, otherwise the taxpayers will have to foot the bill

Oh my gosh! I wonder if this guy is a Democrat or a Republican? (any odds on either?) Was he educated in a public or private school ? Was he educated at all? Does TV count? Does NPR give out diplomas?

Senator John McCain damaged his campaign when he admitted he didn't know anything about economics. I think Senator Barack Obama has shown us that he knows even less then the senior Senator.

It's bad enough when these two fine members of Congress are Econo-Ignorant (I suspect they are not alone) but I seem to remember we also had a President once who was afraid to let taxpayers have more of their money back because they (the taxpayer) may not spend it correctly. That's awful? We cannot be trusted to spend our own money? Well! Who made the money in the first place? Who made these rules anyway? How is it that a person who doesn't produce anything tangible can tell a person that trades what they did produce into money what they (the producer) can do with that money?

As bad as the Executive and Legislative branches sound, if the general populace (and I suspect that Mr. Guess is not alone either) believes that Congress has some pool of money they use to pay for everything before they tax the taxpayers, then we can only expect more taxes. Almost makes you to want to stop producing just to see how long NPR can survive.

MWP Disproves AGW

Hey! I just learned about the Medieval Warm Period (MWP) and how it disproves Anthropomorphic Global Warming (AGW). This is the period when the Vikings colonized Greenland (circa A.D. 1000). They later had to leave Greenland when the little ice age came in. It seems we are still coming out of that ice age and have not yet reached the temperatures of the MWP.

So why haven't I heard of this before? The Global Alarmists say that the period was "insignificant." One website said that they had no thermometers back then (duh!) and all of the evidence of a warmer period is "anecdotal." So, if the Vikings of AD 1000 didn't have any thermometers and could not have known what their temperatures were, how do the scientists of today know what the temperature was? Interestingly, the article also said that the warming trend was only local in Greenland and in parts of Europe. I guess they have an answer for everything and I should not question them. The debate has been settled after all.

I think these are the same people that the said the melting ice caps on Mars had no relationship the warming trend here on earth. Really?! I wonder what they are going to say about the increased storm activity at Jupiter's equator. Seems they are being attributed to the warmer temperature of that equator. Three planets, same solar system, all with signs of warming? A mere coincidence? Or, are the alarmists full of hot air? It's gotta go someplace.

So! Her answer is? I assume she wants to pull the troops. What consequences will her ideas have? Me thinks she "thinks" too highly of her self. Perhaps it was a fiat declaration;

The Pillars of Freedom

I think the first two Amendments of the Bill of Rights are the pillars of all of our freedoms. The first one grants us the right to meet and the right to speak. The second one grants us the right to ensure that nobody can take away the first one.

Amendment I

More Hyped Reporting

More sad fallout from the Domestic Violence on Christmas in Carnation. A women and her boy friend kill her parents, her brother and her brother's wife and their two young children. Apparently, a 911 call was attempted but not completed. Deputies were dispatched to check it out but they found the gate to the property locked. Their department is investigating why no further action was taken.

I read in a separate article that Domestic Violence calls are the most common calls on Christmas day. Man! How many bad ties can Aunt Bessie give out to cause so much trouble. Is that why the deputies had to leave because they were swamped? How many of the 911 calls taken that day were prank calls.

Then I read the article by King 5's Linda Brill with the headline:

Relative of slain family demands deputies resign

No such demand is listed in the article. A surviving brother is quoted as saying that if he had been the deputy and that happened to him, he would retire. But no "demand" is listed. My opinion is that Ms. Brill is the only one with a "demand" and it's purpose is to sensationalize her article. I think we need to demand more accurate reporting from the Main Stream Media.

Ex-Officer Stops Homeschooler on Killing Sree at Mega Church started by Closet Homosexual

I don't get it. Earlier this week I heard that a homeschooler had killed several people at a mega church that had been started by a closet homosexual but was killed (the homeschooler, not the closet homo) by a security guard. Wait! No, that changed to he killed himself because the security guard was a police officer that had been fired ten years early for lying about yelling at a bus driver. Now it is hard to find anything real specifics in the major media.

There is more material from the local papers in Colorado but the big hype above was all I heard this week.

Bottom line: Jeanne Assam, a law abiding citizen with a right to carry a fire arm, stopped a killing spree. Even if the creep fired his own fatal shot, he clearly had not planned to stop that soon. Miss (or Ms?) Assam is a hero and she did the right thing. But I wonder:

Why was the hero's past significant?
Why was the past of the founder of the church significant?
Why was the educational past of the killer significant? I don't think I have ever seen a report that said, "And the suspect was educated in a public school."

Here's a "fine" bit of news

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The city of Beaverton could become the first in Oregon to use a new law that allows cities to fine retailers $50 for each shopping cart stores fail to retrieve.

Sounds like our food prices will go up - again.

Perhaps we will see the grocery stores place a rental fee on the carts. Another option would be for the stores to offer a finder's fee to those who return carts. That could even provide some employment for some idle youth in the neighborhood.

Still, it doesn't seem fair for the government to fine a business for the carts. Here they provide a basket to carry your groceries and some irresponsible lazy person fails to return it. So who do we penalize? The business of course.

Either way, I can feel my wallet getting thinner.

Peace is Patriotic?

Maybe you have seen the bumper sticker, "Peace is Patriotic." I believe this is true, peace is patriotic. However, seeing this with all of the other bumper stickers I see it displayed with, makes me think that they think that "War is Not Patriotic." And that is not true.

The American Heritage Dictionary defines a Patriot as, "One who loves, supports, and defends one's country." The same dictionary defines a peacenik as, "A political activist who publicly opposes war, a particular war, or the proliferation of weapons; a pacifist." I suspect that the bumper sticker bearers are peaceniks. And that's fine. They have the freedom in this country to think, believe, and say what they want. However, I think they have either forgotten, or they never knew, or maybe they don't even care where freedom came from.

Freedom is not free. There is a saying in economics that I think applies here, TANSTAAFL "There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch." Somebody has to pay for it. Stores offer "free" items at the expense of their marketing budgets. God offers salvation to us "free" at the expense of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Our right to be "free" came at the expense of those that that have gone before us that were willing to pay the ultimate price in war. But this freedom is not forever. For us to keep it, for our children to have it, somebody must be ready and willing to pay the price again. At least until there are no tyrants, no bullies that want to take it away.

Peace without war is capitulation. And to capitulate to an enemy, especially to the Jihadists of today, would mean subjugation. Subjugation is not freedom, nor is it free. We'll pay for it; with fear.

To the Party In Charge

I urge you to support General Petraeus and allow him to finish the job in Iraq. The government of Iraq is the wrong benchmark to use. It may be a long time before they come up to speed to meet any benchmarks we set for them. However, the conflict in Iraq is NOT the war, it is merely the largest battle front.

There have been thousands of attacks by the Jihadist's world wide over the last decade. This branch of fanaticism is flexing it's muscle and it sees every step we take backwards as an opportunity to take a step forward. We need to hold our ground. We cannot afford to offer them any sort of encouragement.

The book they read is sorted in order by book size and has sayings of peace through out it. However, when placed in chronological order, it starts with peace and progresses to violence calling for the submission of all.

We may eventually be able to negotiate with them. But if we cannot negotiate from a position of strength, the only thing we will have to offer to them is submission. And that will be the end of our freedom.

Help! My Party has fallen and I can't get up.

I must have fallen asleep or something. I am no longer covered by my party's tent. Did it disappear? Did it just move - left? They (the infamous "They") had said that we would make a bigger tent so we could take in all of those that were left out. Well! If they were "left," maybe that's why they were "out" in the first place.

So what happened? Did the tent get bigger? Oh my gosh! Maybe that's not my party tent at all but the tent of the other party. It's so much like them now. Wait! I see it. The other tent has moved even further to the left. And my party tent has been sucked over by the resulting vacuum (Ross Perot thought that sucking sound was just our taxes). It seems that a tent can only get so big, the fabric can only stretch so far before things come apart.

So the party of the left has moved left and is leftier then they used to be and the party of the right has followed and moved left. I think I know how Joe Lieberman feels. I hope this is just a nightmare and I wake up pretty soon.

I missed old Al's Concert. No I didn't. Truth be told, I skipped it. I don't think I missed anything. I did skim the news to look for interesting tidbits. Like the following words of wisdom from RFK Jr. as reported in Newsday.com

"Get rid of all these rotten politicians that we have in Washington, who are nothing more than corporate toadies," said Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the environmentalist author, president of Waterkeeper Alliance and Robert F. Kennedy's son, who grew hoarse from shouting. "This is treason. And we need to start treating them as traitors."

Wow! Pretty strong words. I thought Treason and Traitor was reserved for those who aid and abet the enemy? Who is the enemy here? Carbon Dioxide? Jr. must have been convinced that we are in serious trouble by Al's movie "THE INCONVENIENT TRUTH." Personally, I'm waiting for the Infallible proof. As soon as he can tell me how my Carbon emissions are causing the polar ice caps on Mars to melt, then I might start paying attention.

Frankly, My friend, I don't give a darn.

I kinda like Pope Benedict. But as a Protestant, I don't really care that much about what he says. I also don't understand why some of the mainline denominations are so upset about it.

I was raised as a nominal Catholic. I didn't accept Christ as my Saviour until I was in my late teens. And then I became a Protestant. Protestant-ism was NOT a prerequisite to being saved. I think there are a lot of Protestants that are not saved. I also think there are some Catholics that are saved. I'm just not sure that the Pope is one of them.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the head of the Church and the Gospel is the issue.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. S-O-R-D-E for Immigration

It may not make a good bumper sticker but it works as a pretty good acronym for establishing immigration priorities. Almost even sounds, ...well, Spanish (DOERS could work but REODS just didn't make sense).

S-eal the borders. We may not be able to cover every mile but anything we can do that will impede the flow and assist the Border Patrol is to our advantage.
O-pen legal immigration. Let's increase the number we annually authorize to immigrate. Let's encourage those who want to come to America legally to become Americans. I do not believe that there are jobs that no American will take but if we need more employable people, let's invite those who want to make our homeland their homeland.
R-eturn illegals when caught to their place of origin. Let's not worry about the 12+ Million here illegally for now, IF they are keeping a low profile. However, if they are caught committing a crime, send them back to their country of origin. But, don't send them back to go free. Instead, make a deal with their country of origin to incarcerate them for us. We can pay the country their fee for maintaining a prisoner. Even if they over charge us, I am sure that overall, it will cost us less. So what if the crooks don't get to watch TV.
D-iscourage the employment of illegals. Heavily fine employers that violate the laws but also make it easier for them to confirm a prospective employee. (For one thing, illegals should NOT be able to get a drivers license.)
E-nglish for assimilation. Establish English only as the national language to encourage assimilation. We do need and want immigrants. But they need to become Americans. They cannot easily do that if they are isolated by their language. And we don't help them by trying to accommodate their language for all government services. For a business, this is fine. But for all official government transactions, we should be working with one language - English.

The Senate may have given up on "their" immigration bill but we should not let them give up on this issue. We should enforce the current laws and work on improvements (I humbly suggest the above list) but we cannot just give up because too many people have already snuck across our borders.

Outsource the Incarcerated Illegals

My basic thoughts on Illegal Immigration are:

Open up legal immigration.
Seal the Borders
Send back the ones we catch
Discourage employing Illegals
Make English the national language to encourage assimilation

But I would like to expand upon the 3rd point about sending them back. We cannot just declare that they all go home and expect them to do it. And we don't have the resources to make them all go home. But, if we catch them breaking another law (besides being her illegally in the first place) we send them back to where they came from.

But the challenge to that is, "What if they have committed a series crime?" Shouldn't they do some time? Yes! But how about we send them back to their country of origin to be incarcerated? What's in it for that country? We would pay that country to jail that person. And while they may charge us more then it costs them, it would probably be cheaper then keeping them in jail here.

And while we are at it, we could send the ones that are crowding our jails now. This would reduce the prison population considerably and we could avoid having to build more jails. We could pay these International hosts annually for as long as these individuals were to be jailed. When their time is up, we stop paying. We would probably need to audit these prisons periodically but I think we could do all of this for a lot less then what we pay per prisoner now.

Glob, er, No Solar Warming!?

Why do we still call it "Global Warming" when it's bigger then the globe? If the polar ice caps on Mars are melting, shouldn't we call it "Solar Warming" instead?

When you have a "House Warming" party, you don't isolate one room and call it by that room. We don't call it a "Living Room Warming" because that is where the majority of the people will be. We don't call it a "Drive Way Warming" because that is where all of the SUV's are. And we certainly don't call it a "Bathroom Warming" party (even if there is an increase in the methane level there). We call it a "House Warming" party.

Therefore, we should broaden the scope of the warming warning. If we do that, perhaps we can try some of the fad fixes on a smaller scale to see if they work first. Before we subject the USA to the proposed draconian measures of the Kyoto Kra, er,... I mean accord, let's ban all SUV's and/or even all emissions on Mars. If the polar ice caps there come back, then we can start these measure on earth.

As a God fearing Steward of His handiwork, I have a responsibility to care for this planet in the best way that I can. However, this does not mean submitting to the worshipers of Gaia. They, NOT believing in a God that is bigger then themselves, feel that it all depends upon them. They want to control from a position of fear because they fear their future. On the other hand, as a Christian, I know that my future is secure in Him. I am accountable unto Him for all of my actions, but my future is His. And being who He is, that is secure. So, I shall call it Solar Warming in an effort to remember that this climate issue is not all about us but that God has a plan for all of us.

Will Gun Control Work?

The Premise of gun control is that outlawing all guns means that the law breakers will have no access to any guns. Some surmise that if we made all guns illegal in the entire world, the bad guys would not be able to get any guns at all. Problem Solved! Or is it?

My neighborhood has been declared as a "Drug Free Zone." There is even a yellow street sign to prove it (or remind everybody?). Yet, a house in this same neighborhood was found to be a Meth lab. To my knowledge, this drug is not legal in any part of the country. Not just the city. Not just my home state. But the entire country. And they were making the drugs here.

May I go another step further? Crime is illegal in this country, yet it still happens. Why? Because there are people that choose to NOT obey those in authority for anything.

Gun control laws don't disarm criminals. They only disarm law abiding citizens. Criminals know this. And even if the criminal does not have a gun, he/she knows that their victims do not either. Virginia Tech was advertised as a Gun Free Zone. Perhaps the outcome would have been different if there had been some law abiding citizen there who was armed. Perhaps the outcome would have been different if the killer had NOT known that all his victims would be un-armed.

That was singer Sheryl Crow's joke at some global warming gathering recently, “I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required.”

I suspect she meant it as a joke but she's gotta know that some liberal legislature is going to take her serious and try to make it a law. And when they get hold of that, they'll want us to use both sides.

Resurrection Sunday 2007

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

I watched "The Nativity Story" for the first time last night. (I think Easter and Christmas are so closely tied together, I have no problem with watching Christmas Movies near Easter. Or singing Resurrection songs on Christmas.) I like how it portrayed the possible problems that Joseph and Mary had with their relationship with each other and their neighbors. And how God provides more then enough just in the nick of time.

The King of Kings and Lord of Lords delivered to man in such a meager way. God choose Joseph and Mary but He also tested them. A Bible teacher recently showed me that we read of the Biblical Saint's victories and defeats after the fact. They lived it. They were being tested when only God knew the outcome. We can learn a lot from their victories. Maybe even more from their mistakes.

The Speaker Speaks and Syria Laughs at U.S.

Nanny Pull-Out-See's visit to Syria was more then humiliating.

She defied the President. (No big deal in the eyes of the libs.)
She overstepped her Constitutional limits. (Being the Constitutional experts they are on the left, how could they miss this one? Is this part of that "living-breathing document" philosophy?)
She "LIED" about what the Prime Minister of Israel said. (I guess it depends upon how you define "peace" talks.)
She cavorted with a despot who supports and aids our enemies.
AND, I am assuming, that she made the US taxpayers pay for this trip.

I do not see how her actions shows her support for our troops. I think she has made this world more dangerous for them and for U.S.

And it looks like it was illegal.

Do you remember when or where you first heard that Valerie Plame worked for the CIA? Neither do I. Does that mean we have to go to jail?

And just how did a reporter get on the jury? I suppose he will write a book and call it, "The big fish that got a way." (There is something fishy about this whole thing.) I'm sure it will be listed as "non-fiction" along with the Inconvenient Truth and Fahrenheit 911.

Joe Wilson is disappointed that the President has shown no sorrow for what has happened to his wife. I'm not sure what he means by that. The only "sad thing" I'm aware of in her life is her husband. And that was her choice. It must suck to be her.

Cowardly Bullies

I think the Jihadists are cowardly bullies; They attack women, children, the elderly, and unarmed men. Basically, the weak. And when they do attack soldiers, it is usually while hiding behind their preferred targets, the weak. Then, to avoid dealing with the consequences, they kill themselves, "Ha Ha, you can't get me now."

He (usually a he) thinks he's a hero. His bully buddies think he's a hero. And he thinks he will soon be surrounded by his seventy virgins (Unless he is a she then she...what does she get? Perhaps she sees this as an escape from her bully brothers or something). And will these virgins think he is a hero?

And about those virgins, does he marry them all? Or will he be forced to live in a household run by seventy women who want to remain virgins? I often wondered about that. The Imam's probably don't tell these "hero's" about that.

Now I will probably be threatened or worse by one or more of these bullies. Oh well! My God is bigger then their god. And He's real.

There is just too much here. Where do we start? First of all, what does it take to be a thinker anyway? I am; therefore, I think? (Apologies to Descartes) Do they think better, or smarter then the rest of us? Or, do they think they are better or smarter then the rest of us?

Science might be able to replace religion. Why not? There are many people who use religion to avoid having to answer to The one true God. The infamous "they" distort or ignore His Word to justify their own way.

...in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. (2 Peter 3:16 b NKJV)

I'll grant that "religion" is man made. God wants a relationship with us. Am I splitting hairs? Maybe? Most religions are man's attempt to reach up to God. But God has already reached down to us.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 NKJV)

These "Thinker's" don't just want us to drop religion. They want us to forget God because they don't want to believe in Him. And, they don't want anybody to remind them of Him

The fool has said in his heart,"There is no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. (Psalms 14:1 NKJV)

I am thinking that they should try to convince me that there is no God

And in their attempt, perhaps they will come face to face with God and drop this foolishness.

And just how are they to do that?

My sixteen year old son provided an analogy that may fall apart in a couple of places but still makes sense. The USA is like the big guy who has stepped in to help a weak kid (the people of Iraq) against a bunch of bullies (the Jihadists). Now with the ISG (I'll Surrender Gladly) report, the USA is to tell the little guy, "Fend for yourself, I have too many owies! Oh! And you bullies, be nice, or I'll have to show you my stern face."

Now who is helping the Jihadists? At least two of Iraq's neighbors; Iran and Syria.

Is a stable Iraq in "their" best interests? How do we convince them that it is? Give them more money? Sure, that works for all of our problems. We just throw more money at it and it goes away- NOT.

I don't think the people of Iraq should count on Iran or Syria for anything. And now it looks like they can't count on the US of A either.

And the I think the Jihadist's are thinking "Today, Baghdad. Tomorrow, New York - again."

Is that a threat or a promise?

When I tell a friend of mine, "I'll be back." he will quip, "Is that a threat or a promise?" Well! I guess that depends upon how one looks at it.

I was thinking of this recently when it was pointed out to me that we can consider God's prophecies as not just predictions, but promises.

God promised that He would send his Son.
God promised that His Son would pay the penalty for us.
God promises that He will be back.

Or to put it another way:

Christmas was a promise.
Easter was a promise.
Judgment IS a promise.

And to us Bible believing sinners saved by the Grace gift of God and called "Christians," that is a beautiful bunch of promises.

But to those that don't want to believe, even refuse to believe, it is a threat. It threatens their lifestyle. It threatens their future. Why it even threatens their reason for being. That's why many of these people want any visage, any evidence, of Christ removed from the public arena. Because if it's true, there will be HELL to pay.

How sad! Because salvation is soooo simple.

So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." (Acts 16:31 NKJV)

And that's a promise.

Sir John has spoken

Sir Elton John, speaking to the Observer Music Monthly Magazine, said religion lacked compassion and turned people into "hateful lemmings...I think religion has always tried to turn hatred towards gay people. Religion promotes the hatred and spite against gays...From my point of view I would ban religion completely."

Interesting! He then says, "People were too busy blogging on the internet to go out onto the streets to stand up for what they believed in." Maybe he means stand up for what he believes in. Because didn’t he just say that he would want me to be banned for standing up for what I believe in? But I know of no biblical leader that preaches hatred against homosexuals. After all, Christ died for them also. It's the homosexuality that we have a problem with.

Let me quote one of these spiritual leaders:

The Apostle Paul says, "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. (Romans 1:27 KJV)

Is this one of the leaders that Sir Elton John wants banned? Or how about this one:

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." (Leviticus 20:13 KJV) Moses wrote this but he was quoting God. I think Sir Elton's title just got trumped.

Let me not leave it at that. While God calls for death, it is a warning to them that might practice it. He doesn’t call us to hate them. He later has Paul state the following:

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 KJV)

God doesn’t want us to hate anybody that He loves.

I believe the "good" Jr. Senator from Mass-Choose-itz (it's all about choice) when he says he botched the joke. After all, his humor record has been rather dismal. I do believe he meant that President Bush was stuck in Iraq. And he did follow up with something like he had been stuck in Vietnam. Though you don't hear much about that comment. It still shows an insensitivity towards those that wear the uniform today. It's Jr's apology that set me off.

We the people misinterpreted the poor maligned "Jr" Senator. Yes my fellow Americans, it's our fault. Don't we know a joke when we hear one? After all, he has shown so much respect for the troops in the past. Like when he came back from Vietnam. Like when he voted for the war then voted against the funding. Like when... well, I can't think of any others just now but there must be more because, after all, he is a Vet you know.

I too am a vet. I did meet some stupid people in the service but they were aberrations. I think there is a greater percentage of stupid people in Congress than there is in the military. (If they are in Congress and served in the military, do I count them once or twice?)

The Elite Senator thinks he speaks down to us from Mount Olympus. All I see is a ketchup bottle. And I'd like to give him a good Swift Boot off of it.

Is it 60 Minutes or 60's Minutes?

If the Sixties is considered a hey day for the left, then they should use the title. I think they had or feel they had a sense of power. And they still think they have it. Case in point is the article about a CBS "60 Minutes" piece that David Reinhard has in the Oregonian. Apparently, 60 Minutes interviewed a David Kuo (author of Tempting Faith) who advocates that Christians, especially Evangelical (read Bible oriented) Christians, "Fast" from the upcoming elections to avoid being manipulated.

Now why would 60 Minutes do that? Mr Kuo says that President Bush has NOT delivered everything that Christians should expect from him. Duh? With GW being a moderate in the first place, having to contend with a RINO Congress, a War on Terror, and a less then respectful Mainstream Media; what should we should we expect from him? Utopia? No, wait - that's Communism. Heaven? No Way, he's not God.

I think politics is a lot like gardening. Some plants produce good fruit. Some others are just plain old weeds. For some plants to produce good or better fruit, you must get rid of a lot of weeds. If you wait to do the weeding, it only gets worse. I think the "manipulators" have had their sixty minutes. Now it's our turn. Let's get out there and do some weeding.

Moral High Ground

Mary Katharine Ham over at Townhall.com had a great piece titled Chicks with Guns. She agrees that it's a good thing to arm more chicks and many of her readers agreed. However, one person felt that by arming yourself, you giving up the Moral High Ground. WHAT? My reply was:

Just because your hands are in the air doesn't mean you have the "Moral High ground." It more likely means that your going to end up on, or in the ground.

Clever? Well, maybe if you are easily amused like me. But the willingness to give up your own defense seems pretty stupid to me. And since when is stupidity equal to the Moral High Ground?

Religion of Peace my Donkey!

So President Bush has finally labeled the IslamoFascists as Islam Fascists. BZ!

How fast was it that the defenders of the Religion of Peace denounced him for associating these killers with Islam? But wait, don't these killers themselves CLAIM to be Muslim. Shouldn't the defenders of the Religion of Peace be denouncing them instead? If they truly wanted to defend their religion, they should be showing the world how these killers are perverting their religion and reveal to us the true nature of the peace of their relegion. Educate us! Don't castigate us for using the title they claim for themselves. Show us the difference. I don't see this happening.

And you anguished over the decision? Was this over what it could do to your country? Or how it could effect your paper? A Leason Learned

Mr. Horatio Bartholomew Smith (Bart to his friends) was dumbfounded. He put the paper down where he had found it on the bench next to him.

He was waiting for the train home for his weekly trek to see his family. Trains were back in vogue now that mandatory flight insurance was so high. Trains were relatively cheap. Oh, He had seen how it was heavily subsidized but that was out of his taxes and he didn’t see that anyway. Just one swipe of the debit card and if he forgot to record it, his budget wasn’t in that much trouble. Besides, they didn’t handcuff you “for your own safety” on the trains. He still didn’t see how putting handcuffs on every seat was cheaper then arming the pilot but that’s what they said.

He remembered when this all began, or at least for him. He had just purchased stock in “SixShooter,” one of the gun companies, when they started banning guns. He had even owned a gun once, though he had never really used it. He had inherited it. He didn’t even remember what kind it was. Grandpa had told him that one of their ancestors had used it at Lexington during the “War for Independence.” Grandpa always called it that. Grandpa would fire it off every Fourth of July with great care and ceremony. Bart’s dad was afraid of it so he discontinued that practice when he inherited it. Bart had dutifully turned it in when the government asked him to. He did get fifteen dollars for it. He thought of Grandpa as he watched them roll over it with that bulldozer.

Bart then sold his gun company stock but it was too late. He had waited until after all the lawsuits started. Unable to hold the perpetrators responsible (they had no money) the lawyers went after the manufacturers of the weapons. After all, individuals might make mistakes but corporations made “plans.” For the sake of a buck, the corporations would sell their wares to the victims of society, who would in turn, victimize others. This corporate greed was the root of the problem and had to be dealt with. Besides, lawyers had to make a living too.

Selling at a loss, he transferred everything to Sluggo Inc., the sports equipment company. A prosperous venture, until baseball bats became the next weapon of choice by the “victims of society” desiring to influence others to do things they might not otherwise want to do. When deaths by bats or hockey sticks exceeded gun deaths is when he should have sold that stock. But he didn’t.

Bart thought it odd, he remembered hearing stories of people defending themselves with guns but he could not recollect any account of a granny defending herself with a Sluggo.

Registration wasn’t so bad. Oh the professional players whined when they were limited to how many bats they could buy at a time but what’s “good for the goose is good for the gander” Bart always said. The mandatory turn in was harder. His son, Jimmy, cried the whole time watching the bulldozer roll over all of those bats with his in the middle. He did get fifteen bucks for it. Bart decided not to tell him how much Santa had paid for it.

The lawsuits were killing Sluggo Inc. Then Congress banned baseball and declared that Kickball was the new national sport. Sluggo Inc. did not make kickball’s. Selling at a loss, he transferred everything to Bristle Broom and Bathroom Inc.

Bart had decided to look for a safe industry to invest the last of his dwindling fortune in. Cleaning supplies made sense and Bristle Broom and Bathroom Inc. was the best. But now this; Bart reread the title, “Death by broomsticks and plungers on the rise. Lawyers target Bristle B & B.” Bart cried.

Is there a moral to this story? Of course; Diversify your funds. Don’t put all of your stock in one company.

Immigration: My 2¢ worth

Okay! So I have listened to the rhetoric and some of it doesn’t make sense to me (i.e. amnesty for illegals. And cut this nonsense about undocumented workers. Of course we didn’t document their entry. They broke the law by sneaking in Illegally.).

I think we should:

Open up legal immigration. At least enough to replace the illegal aliens who will soon be without a job. We should have a liberal immigration policy, but only for those who are willing to obey the laws to get here.
Build a wall and/or fence to stem the flow of aliens who willingly break our laws to get here.
We will not be able to round up all of the aliens that have snuck in so far. But if they get caught breaking a second law, even if it’s jaywalking or a speeding ticket (wait a minute, what are they doing with a legal drives license? This has also got to stop) send them back to their country of origin.
Increase and enforce the fines on employers for hiring illegal aliens. Make it a bad business decision to hire illegal aliens.
Make English the national language. And require that all government business be conducted in English. All ballots and contracts should be in English. Businesses can cater to a language group but the government should not.

Nuff said for now.

I started this blog in order to respond to some of the idiocy that I have heard that I cannot directly respond to. Usually because it is not said to me or the one saying it is to high and mighty to have anything to do with me.

For example, a young man I know in college had his professor tell his class that when the Bible says that Samson "did grind in prison" it meant that he was raped. He further stated that "grind" in the Old Testament meant sex (or something to that effect). Besides, he said, "Who would buy ground wheat from a prison?"

Well! The professor said it so it must be true. I hope his class is smarter then that.

I went to my trusty e-Sword Bible Software and looked up a few things.

Jdg 16:21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

The AMG International The Complete Word Study Dictionary lists “Grind” as H2912

ָטַחן

Hmmm! No reference to sex here. If it means to mill in all of these other verses, why should it mean rape in Judges 16:21?

In regards to his comment about “buying the grain from a prison” I don’t think they sold it. I think they baked bread for the King to further humiliate Samson.
